    • Thanks, David. You know, when I got through a little early with high school, I was not yet 18. I wanted to join the armed services so I could pay for law school. I walked into the army recruiter’s office and was immediately sure that was where it was all at! I went home and excitedly told Mom about my plans. She was all for whatever I wanted to do. But she warned me thatr Daddy wasn’t going to likely be so receptive. So, I waited until the last minute to tell him that the recruiter was coming by the house to get his signature on the papers…oh my goodness! Daddy hit the roof! “No daughter of MINE is going into that snake pit with MY permission!” he yelled. He went on to speak of the way it was when he was in the Navy and the few women that were enlisted and how the men treated them, etc.
SO, I never got to enlist. :/ And that was that.
