Special Feature: Oktoberfest 2014

The mouse and I have been extraordinarily absentee in recent weeks and it is pretty awful to notice that we aren’t doing much at all here. Several posts back we told you about my ex- MIL’s terrible situation http://wp.me/p3m3ZG-1N3.

It seems death is imminent, down to mere days instead of the few months the doctor estimated at first.

Her condition has deteriorated rapidly in just the month since. She is at her son’s home now with a 24-hour hospice nurse in attendance — my daughters are still getting used to the idea that their beloved “Gee-ma” has but a short time left. On Wednesday, my eldest girl, Holly, and I went to the hospital to see her.  I plan to talk about that in a future post — for now, I just want to say that my exchange with her that day left me quite overcome with emotion.

And so it is that which weighs heavily in my heart — the sadness of realizing that soon we will be grieving another  important loss — we’ve bid good-bye to SO MANY — at least 8 so far, this summer.  So, derailed is the most accurate descriptor for us  — but we will do our utmost to stay active and posting as we deal with that unfortunate situation; we truly apologize to our fellow bloggers whom we follow and enjoy reading posts from — but we are hoping you’ll forgive our irregular visits to your wonderful pages right now.   We really love you all and appreciate that you are giving your time to our posts, even still.

Our feature today is the Munich festivities better known as: OKTOBERFEST…apparently in 2014, Oct 05 was closing day. Wouldn’t that make it ‘Septemberfest?’ Ahhhhh well…technicalities aside, it sure looks like a ‘stein of a good time.’

We enjoyed the fun it captured and were happy to have a moment of positive distraction, as well.

We hope you like it too.

‘Ein Prosit!’ Cheers!

    • Thank you Suz. Dr. said going to be a matter of a few more days. My ex-sis-in-law came by to get a little advice and to set an appt. to get the arrangements started. It’s very hard on her especially…she just lost her husband a week ago from a lengthy battle with cancer. Sheesh. Thanks for your compassion.

  2. I’m very sorry to hear about the sad news you have had to deal with. Please know that my thoughts are with you and I’ll be here to read whenever you can post.

  3. It’s a surprise to find you posting at all under the circumstances. Be sure that if you can’t manage posts we’ll all still be waiting here for you to get back. I just hope the period of absence isn’t too bad for you, and you’re not away long enough to forget us.
