Crosses of Sacrifice and Courage Remind Us of The Heavy Cost of Liberty

Memorial Day isn’t just about honoring veterans, its honoring those who lost their lives. Veterans had the fortune of coming home. For us, that’s a reminder of when we come home we still have a responsibility to serve. It’s a continuation of service that honors our country and those who fell defending it. ”

Yesterday we happened to be seated at our club luncheon with Mr. Emmitt Luttrell…turns out he’s been in the music business for years.

Anyhow, his song, “Silent Majority” was apparently working its way up the U.K. Indie chart, recently.

As an American, this song was meant to resonate with American citizens who are disturbed by the current state of affairs here. All of the Free World ought be concerned about the extraordinary

danger the people have been put in…

Please pass it forward if you love your freedom.

Thanks everybody!!

Re-publishing this post we wrote a year ago, honoring the Shuttle crew of the tragic accident which claimed their lives just prior to their landing in Texas in 2003.

“High Flight”

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air….

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
– Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

January 28, 1986 –  Space Shuttle CHALLENGER exploded just seconds after launching at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

It was a shocking, surreal vision to behold across televisions all across America, even around the globe. Once again, we honor the astronauts who perished that day with this post of remembrance.

I remember well what I was just going to leave the house to do that morning…I’d just gotten off of my graveyard shift as a waitress at Denny’s…I had glimpsed the t.v. as I headed out the door to pick up my wedding invitations, which were freshly printed at the “P.I.P” place…I half-consciously heard something on the news in the car…about some sort of explosion…yeah, I thought to myself, that must have been the plumy white smoke I saw on the t.v. a minute ago…by the time I got back home, it was the ONLY thing on any news, whether via radio or via t.v.

We didn’t have 24-hr CNN then.

All day long…they looped that horrid footage of that terrible explosion.

I kept thinking to myself: wow, all those school kids and these astronauts’ families were standing by and watching this nightmare unfold, ‘live.’

I remember praying that perhaps, even against all real odds, that MAYBE they would be able to rescue the crew. Who knew that the heat was so intense as to practically incinerate those poor people alive?

I prayed that they were unconscious and unable to know the pain of that inferno.

Eastern Lightning

Eastern Lightning, the Church of Almighty God was created because of the appearance and work of Almighty God, the second coming of the Lord Jesus, Christ of the last days. It is made up of all those who accept Almighty God’s work in the last days and are conquered and saved by His words. It was entirely founded by Almighty God personally and is led by Him as the Shepherd. It was definitely not created by a person. Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. God’s sheep hear God’s voice. As long as you read the words of Almighty God, you will see God has appeared.
